About Candace
For Candace, barbering is more than a career. It's a family tradition. She has been in the hair industry since 2004 and brings more than 20 years of experience behind the chair as both a licensed barber and cosmetologist.
Her connection to barbering, however, goes back much further. Candace grew up around the profession, inspired by both her father and grandfather. Her grandfather opened Rhoades Barbershop in Atlanta in the 1950s, beginning a family legacy that Candace is proud to continue today.
Over the past two decades, Candace has developed experience in a wide variety of men's and children's haircuts, from traditional barber cuts to today's styles. She specializes in flat tops, fades, tapers, clipper cuts, and detailed scissor work, along with beard trims and detailing. Rather than relying on a single technique, Candace chooses the tools and approach that work best for each client's hair, style, and desired result.
What Candace values most about barbering, though, is the people. She has had the opportunity to cut multiple generations of the same families and watch children who first climbed into her chair years ago grow into adults. Along the way, she has shared countless conversations and life milestones with her clients, including marriages, new babies, careers, celebrations, and difficult times. Many of those clients have become more like friends and family.
Her approach behind the chair is relaxed, personable, and detail-oriented. Candace wants every client to feel comfortable enough to be themselves, enjoy a good conversation, and know that they're being heard. She takes her work seriously, but she doesn't believe getting a haircut has to feel serious. A little conversation and laughter are all part of the experience.
Outside the barbershop, Candace is a wife, mother, and grandmother who loves spending time with her family and dogs. She's creative by nature and enjoys music, decorating, and exploring new creative and entrepreneurial projects.
After more than 20 years, Candace still genuinely loves being behind the chair. She's proud of where she came from, proud to carry on her family's barbering tradition, and grateful for the relationships she's built along the way. For her, every person who chooses to sit in her chair is another opportunity to continue a family legacy that began generations ago.
